Tickets & field jobs

Tickets are how work gets from the office to the field. Raise one, put it on a technician, and they get everything they need to do the job — including where to go.

Raising a ticket

Create a ticket for a fault or a job and, if it has a physical location, drop a pin on it (or use the customer’s location). That location is what turns a ticket into a dispatchable job.

Assigning to a technician

Open a ticket and pick a technician from the assign control. Only your technicians appear in the list. On assignment, the technician is notified by SMS so they know a job is waiting — no need to phone around.

You can assign by hand this way, or let the system pick the nearest technician automatically.

What the technician sees

A technician’s console is scoped to their work — their assigned tickets, with a badge showing how many are open. For each job they get:

  • The customer and the problem.
  • The location on the map.
  • A Navigate button that opens the spot in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps for turn-by-turn directions.

So a technician can go from “you’ve been assigned a job” to driving there in two taps, from the phone in their pocket.

Install it on the phone

Technicians can install a dedicated Field app on their phone’s home screen — see Install as an app.
